Brit Lindsey is an educator, creative entrepreneur and community advocate. Hurricane Katrina and a full scholarship to play basketball at Tulane University drew her to New Orleans from Atlanta, Georgia in 2006 and she has resided here, in the city that care forgot, ever since. A deep admiration for the city of New Orleans and its’ people has created a need to share her gifts and talents with the community that keeps her. Brit is the owner of Master Minds Private Tutoring llc., a private tutoring concierge service, established in 2011. In 2016 she founded the HUEman Development Project, a nonprofit whose mission is rooted in community service, the arts and entrepreneurial equity in New Orleans. The HUEman Development Project is particularly interested in assisting children of HUE along their journeys of ethnic and racial identity formation, through intergenerational mentorship and community service. Our developing HUEmans (age 13-18) are paired with a transitional HUEman (age 25-35) and a rooted HUEman (age 35+); research shows that inter generational mentoring improves social emotional skills, social connectedness as well as physical and mental health. She is the Chief Operating Officer and academic contributor to Writebrained, a New Orleans based writing club, currently housed at The New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School. Most recently, December 2017, she completed her Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University.
